31 more test positive for Covid, no death

Thirty-one more people tested Covid-19 positive in the 24 hours until Saturday morning, taking the total figure to 19,53,623 in Bangladesh.
As no new death was reported during the period, fatalities from the viral disease in the country remained static at 29,131, according to the regular bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). The DGHS also said 4,124 samples were tested during the period.
Currently, 879 laboratories across the country are conducting the Covid-19 tests.
Of the new patients, 29 were in Dhaka city and the remaining two were in Chattogram and Rangpur divisions.
The fatality rate was reported at 1.49 per cent for the entire period while the positivity rate at 0.75 per cent.
Some 171 patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. It took the total to 19,03,751 so far.
The country reported the first Covid-19 positive case on March 8, 2020 and the first death from the disease on March 18 the same year.
