314MW to be added to nat\\\'l grid on May 3

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said on Thursday the government would add 314.7 megawatt electricity to the national grid from May 3 with 71 per cent people to come under electricity coverage across the country, reports BSS.
"314.7 megawatt electricity would be added in the national grid from four power plants across the country on May 3 with inauguration by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," he said at a meet the press at Bijoy Hall of Bidduyt Bhaban in the city.
The state minister said the government has fixed its target to generate 20,804MW electricity under the vision-2021 under the 'Power System Master Plan-2010.' He said 13 more power plants would be constructed from next year for producing electricity, adding, "The government has undertaken 55 projects having capacity for electricity generation of 18,983MW."
