32 BNP men sent to jail in Comilla

A court in Comilla on Tuesday sent 32 BNP leaders and activists to jail in a case filed for killing a BGB man in 2013. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Amlan Kushum Bishnu passed the order when they surrendered to the court seeking bail. On November 26, 2013, Ripon Miah, a member of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), was shot to death during a clash between BNP men and police and BGB. A police constable was also injured during the incident. Shahidul Islam, sub-inspector of Kotwali Police Station, had filed a case against 81 people. Among the accused, 29 secured anticipatory bail from the High Court on January 28, 2014. On February 25, a court sent another bend of 32 BNP men to jail when they appeared before the court after completion of the High Court bail, according to UNB.
