32 pirates surrender in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Nov 12: A total of 32 pirates of Chattogram and Cox's Bazar coastal belt surrendered to the law enforcing agencies on Thursday. Home Ministry and RAB-7 arranged a function for surrender of the pirates at Banshkhali in Chattogram in the morning. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal was present at the function as chief guest.
Of the arrested pirates 22 were from 11 gangs while the rest were from separate gangs. The pirates who surrendered to the law enforcers are identified as Abdul Hakim alias Baishya Dacoit (42), Abdul Gafur alias Gafur Dacoit (47) of Baishya Bahini, Didarul Islam alias Futukya (32), Jashim Uddin alias Jashimya Dacoit (26) and Mijanur Rahman (23) of Futuk Bahini, Abdur Rahim alias Rahimya (64) and Mohammed Ali alias Vettya (44) of Khalil Bahini, Obaied Ullah (36) of Badal Bahini, Younus (56) of Ramij Bahini, Touhid Islam (34) of Didar Bahini, Nijam Uddin Bhandari (40), Younus (51), Kamal Uddin (47) of Badshah Bahini, Abdus Sukkur (28) of Kader Bahini, Shahadat Hossain Doel (41), Parvej (33) of Zia Bahini, Nasir Uddin alias Nasir Dacoit (51), Amir Hossain (48), Abdul Saker (40) of Nasir Bahini, Selim Badshah (34), Abdul Gafur alias Gafur Dacoit (45), Abu Bakkar Siddik (31), Mamun Meah (27) of Kalaboda Bahini. Abu Bakkar Siddik alias Banshya (29), Belal Meah (30), Abdul Hakim alias Bakku (35), Rashid Meah (36), Mohammed Ismail (24), Shahab Uddin alais Tunnu Dacoit (32), Ferdous (52), Rejaul Karim (40), Md Younus (42) and Manjur Alam alias Manju Dacoit (42) of other gangs.
Among others, Shamsul Haque Tuku MP, Mostafijur Rahman MP, Ashekullah Rafique MP, IGP Benjir Ahamed, Senior Secretary Mostafa Kamal Uddin, Additional DIG of RAB Colonel Tofael Mostafa Sarwwar were present at the function as special guests while Commanding Officer (CO) of RAB-7 Lt. Colonel Md Moshiur Rahman chaired the function.
Addressing the function, Home Minister Asadujjaman Khan Kamal MP expressed his hope to the surrendered pirates for living a normal life in future.
