321 more opposition men held across country

In a pre-hartal crackdown on opposition parties, the police arrested 321 more activists of BNP and Jama'at-e-Islami in Khulna, Dinajpur, Sylhet, Sherpur, Comilla, Rajshahi, Manikganj, Narayanganj, Kurigram, Kishoreganj and Bogra districts Sunday night and Monday, reports UNB.
In Khulna, the law enforcers, in separate drives, held 13 more leaders and activists of BNP at different parts of the city in connection with Kotwali thana Sub-inspecter Kazi Rezaul Karim assault case.
In Sylhet, at least 43 activists of BNP and its associate organisations were arrested at different areas of the city from Sunday night until Monday evening.
In Comilla, the law enforcers arrested 27 activists of BNP and Jama'at-e-Islami in different upazilas of the district Sunday.
In Sherpur, the police arrested 17 leaders and workers of BNP and Jama'at-e-Islami from different parts of the district, including Sherpur town.
In Dinajpur, 34 activists of BNP and its associate bodies were rounded up from different areas of the town in the last 48 hours ending 6pm Monday.
In Manikganj, the police picked up 18 BNP leaders and activists in the town and different upazilas of the district Sunday night and early Monday.
In Rajshahi, BNP leader and former Rajshahi City Corporation Mayor Mizanur Rahman Minu alleged that the police held 154 more activists of BNP and its associate bodies from different parts of the district, including the city from Sunday until Monday evening.
Besides, the police arrested 12 BNP activists in Kurigram, six in Kishoreganj, seven in Narayanganj and three in Bogra districts in separate pre-hartal special drives Monday.
