33 held while going to Malaysia illegally

Bangladesh Coast Guard members detained 33 people from the Bay of Bengal near Saint Martin’s Island in Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday afternoon while going to Malaysia illegally. Sources at the Coast Guard Headquarters said the law enforcers from Coast Guard Station Shahpori of Teknaf conducted an operation in the bay at about 4:30 pm. They detained the fishing boat, which was heading towards Malaysia carrying the 33 Bangladeshi nationals illegally. The coast guard handed over the detained people to Teknaf police station for legal action, according to a news agency.
