33,071 tonnes rice procured in Jamalpur

Food Department has procured 33,071 tonnes of rice in Jamalpur district till July this year. An official source said, against the target of 33,241 tonnes of rice, the Food Department could procure 33,071 tonnes from the mill owners. The Food Department contacted 430 mill owners in the district to collect the rice. The rice was purchased in 8 centres of the Food Department. The procurement price of per kg rice was Tk 31, said the Department officials. District Food Controller, Mohammad Hanif said the procurement began from May 1 and would continue until August 31, according to BSS.
