34 Jamaat-Shibir men held with 25 petrol bombs in Gazipur

Police in a drive arrested 34 Jamaat-Shibir men from a restaurant at Shibari intersection in Gazipur city on Thursday night. Delwar Hossain, additional superintendent of police, Gazipur said, tipped off, a team of police raided Euro Bangla restaurant in the area and arrested them while they were holding a meeting at the night. Police also recovered 25 petrol bombs from their possession. Gazipur city unit Jamaat secretary Khairul Hasan was among the arrestees. Police said among the arrestees were leaders and activists of 19 district units of Jamaat-Shibir, including Jamalpur, Sirajganj and Tangail, and most of them were wanted in several cases filed for arson attack and vandalism, according to a news agency.
