346 doctors promoted as associate professors

As many as 346 doctors were promoted as associate professors on Wednesday.
Of them, 214 promoted doctors were also given new postings in various government medical colleges outside Dhaka at the directive of the Prime Minister, said a handout of the Health Ministry, a news agency report said.
The postings were approved at a meeting chaired by Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim in the Secretariat.
The promoted doctors are asked to join the new workplaces within the next seven days, otherwise they will be given release from the existing workplace on August 13.
In the promotion letter, it was mentioned that if anyone fails to join the new posting, the promotion order will not be effective and divisional action will be taken against the doctor concerned.
In case of the doctors, who are now on lien, study leave or deputation, the promotion order will be effective for them after joining their workplace.
