35 Ctg industrial units get gas connection

CHITTAGONG, Apr 20: The work of providing gas connection to the industrial units of Chittagong region has resumed after around two years suspension.
Bakhrabad Gas Systems Ltd (BGSL) is providing gas connection on the basis of the priority list by Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI).
BGSL sources said, as many as 35 industries have so far received gas connection and other factories waiting for gas would be provided connection in phases on availability of adequate gas supply.
With a view to resolving gas crisis in Chittagong region, a national committee was formed in July last year during the tenure of caretaker government.
A detailed programme was chalked out to provide gas connection to 213 units in 3 phases beginning from December 2008 to be continued up to 2009. However, BGSL was able to provide gas connection in March this year.
The concerned factories have taken necessary preparation for starting production after receiving gas.
