35-km gridlock on Dhaka-Ctg highway

A 35 kilometre long traffic gridlock was created on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway on Friday morning following a collision between two trucks at Raipur in Daudkandi of Comilla. Highway police sergeant of Illiotganj camp Hasan said two trucks collided head-on at Raipur on the highway in Daudkani upazila around 3:00 am, disrupting traffic on the highway. Following the incident, a tailback was created along a 35 kilometre stretch from Daudkandi to Chandina of Comilla, causing immense suffering to the passengers. The trucks that got mangled in the front and lay on the highway were later removed at about 5:00 am on Friday, according to UNB.
