35,160 hectares brought under Boro cultivation in Panchagarh

PANCHAGARH, Feb 1 (BSS): A total of 35,160 hectares of land were brought under Boro cultivation in five upazilas of Panchagarh district this year.
Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) office sources said the production target of Boro has been fixed at 3,00,000 metric tons of rice.
Deputy Director (DAE) of Panchagarh Md. Asraf Ali told BSS that the department has supplied high quality seeds and fertilizers, among the ideal farmers at free of cost to achieve the production target.
Besides, the department has also imparted training to the farmers to make them acquainted with the modern methods of Boro cultivation.
The deputy director hoped that if the climate remains favorable and there is no shortage of fertilizers the farmers may achieve bumper production this year.
