3,560 bottles Phensidyl, Indian jewelry seized

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel in two separate drives have seized 3,560 bottles of Phensidyl and a large quantity of Indian jewelry worth Tk 3.4 million at Benapole union at Sarsa Upazila in Jessore. Subedar Shafiuddin, in-charge of BGB-23 Putkhali camp at Benapole, said they had secret information that some smugglers along with a big consignment of Phensidyl syrup and imitation jewelry were entering Bangladesh from Indian territory. A BGB team conducted separate drives and recovered 3,560 bottles of Phensidyl and huge Indian jewelry from Putkhali and Daulatpur border points on Thursday morning, according to UNB.
