358 BAF peacekeepers get UN medals in Congo

Some 358 Bangladesh Air Force members deployed in UN Peacekeeping Mission in Congo have been awarded prestigious UN medals as recognition of their success and excellent service.
Ituri Brigade Commander Brigadier General Mohammad Siddiqul Alam Sikder officially handed over the medals as the chief guest through a parade Saturday, said an ISPR release Sunday, according to a news agency.
In his speech, the chief guest highly appreciated the contribution of BAF and all members for their dedication and professional excellence.
He especially mentioned that BAF C-130 deployed under MONUSCO was the first military aircraft that landed at Juba in support of UNMISS during crisis at South Sudan in December 2013.
