35th American Cup Golf begins in city

The three-day 35th American Cup Golf Tournament sponsored by Chevron Bangladesh began at Kurmitola Golf Club in the city Friday, reports UNB.
Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari and Chevron Bangladesh president and Tournament Committee chairman Kevin Lyon were present at the opening ceremony.
This year, nearly 600 pro- and amateur golfers are competing for the coveted trophies and prizes in an event. Chevron Bangladesh continued its long tradition of co-sponsoring the three-day event along with a host of local and international business organisations. The other corporate sponsors of the event include Standard Chartered Bank, Halliburton, Weatherford, Tiger Cement, Green Delta Ins, FedEx, Pan Pacific Sonargaon, Polar, RR Cable, Bondstein Tech nologies, Orogenic Resources, Robi Axiata and Coca-Cola.
