37 Jamaat men held in 2 dists

Law enforcers arrested 37 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its associate student body Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) Thursday night, reports UNB.
In Chapainawabganj, the joint force in its overnight drives arrested 28 activists of Jamaat and ICS from different places in Sadar and Shibganj upazilas Wednesday.
Superintendent of Police (SP) of Chapainawabganj Bashir Ahmed said the arrestees were wanted in a number of cases.
In Munshiganj, nine local leaders and activists of Jamaat were arrested from a meeting allegedly they were holding secretly at Shologhar under Srinagar Upazila Thursday night.
The Jamaat activists then also hurled two crude bombs for fleeing safely.
Police also recovered 11 crude bombs from the spot.
The Jamaat men gathered in the area in a bid to carry out subversive activities.
