380kg Hilsa seized in Satkhira

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel seized 380 kilograms (kg) of Hilsa while those were being smuggled out to India through Jhaudanga border of Satkhira Sadar Upazila on Sunday. Major Ahsan, operation officer of Satkhira BGB Battalion-38, said being tipped off that a huge quantity of Hilsa was being smuggled to India, a patrol team of BGB conducted a drive at the frontier village and intercepted a truck. Sensing the presence of the BGB men, the smugglers fled the scene leaving behind the truck. The BGB troops recovered 380kg Hilsa from the vehicle. A case was filed, according to a news agency.
