3rd phase polls in 83 upazilas on Mar 15

The third phase elections to 83 upazilas will be held on March 15, announced Election Commissioner Md Shah Nawaz on Thursday. He came up with the schedule of the third phase upazila elections at the media centre of the Election Commission Secretariat. According to the schedule, the last date for the submission of nomination papers is February 15, while February 17 has been fixed for the scrutiny of nomination papers and February 24 for the withdrawal of candidature. Voting in 98 upazila parishads will be held on February 19 in the first phase, while in 117 upazilas on February 27 in the second phase. Elections to the country’s 480 upazila parishads will be completed in six phases by June this year, according to a news agency.
