4 BIWTA officials suspended

CHITTAGONG, Aug 12: Four officials of BIWTA, Chittagong have been suspended temporarily by the shipping ministry for unauthorised absence from duty today.
Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan visited the Sadarghat BIWTA (Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority) ghat at 9:00 in the morning and found the four officials absent unauthorised.
He instantly ordered the authority concerned to suspend them temporarily. The suspended officials are executive engineer Sajedur Rahman, deputy director (port) Alamgir Hossain, assistant director Md Selim and assistant director Nayan Meah.
Confirming the suspension of all four officials joint director Akkas Ali said the officials were informed that the minister would visit the office Tuesday morning. But they did not attend office on time.
