4 die, 28 hurt in Dinajpur road crash

At least four people have died and 28 injured as a bus overturned after colliding with a tree at Birganj in Dinajpur. The accident took place on the Dinajpur-Birganj road around 9am on Tuesday. The deceased were identified as Qurban ali, 45, Shamima Akter, 35, Laila Begum, 18, and the bus driver’s helper Mia Bhai, 46. Of the injured, 10 were sent to the Dinajpur Medical College Hospital. The others were being treated at the Birganj Upazila Health Complex, medical officer of the centre Ahmudul Hasan said. Birganj police chief Shawakat Hossain said the bus lost control and overturned after colliding with a tree killing four on the spot, according to a news agency.
