4 die in Narsingdi crash

Four people, including a couple, were killed and six others injured as a bus collided with a microbus at Narayanpur in Belabo upazila early Thursday. The deceased were identified as Shahin Mia, 32, his wife Liza, 25, and Shahin’s two friends– Raihan, 32, and Pias, 30. The deceased hailed from Sombhopur village in Bhairab upazila of Kishoreganj district. Highway police sources said a Sylhet-bound bus of ‘Shyamoli Paribahan’ collided head-on with a microbus from the opposite direction on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway around 2:00am, leaving four microbus passengers–Shahin, Liza, Raihan and Pias — dead on the spot and six bus passengers injured. The injured were admitted to Bhairab Upazila Health Complex in critical conditions. On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. A case was filed with Belabo Police Station, according to UNB.
