4 die in Nilphamari road crash

At least four people have been killed and six others injured when a lorry and a pickup truck collided head-on at Syedpur Upazila in Nilphamari district, police say. The accident took place on Monday midnight on the Syedpur-Rangpur highway at Kamarpur Union’s Chikli Bazar. Quoting witnesses, Syedpur police OC Shahidar Rahman said the stone-laden lorry and the pickup truck, transporting passenger, rammed into each other killing three people on the spot. The fourth died at hospital. All the victims were from the pickup truck. Two of the deceased have been identified as Shahidul Islam, 30, and ‘Sagor’, 28. OC Rahman said the injured were rushed to Rangpur Medical College and Hospital and Syedpur 100-seat Hospital, according to bdnews24.com.
