4 die in Sylhet bus crash

At least four people have died after their bus fell into a roadside ditch in Surma area in Sylhet district, on Wednesday, the 2nd day of Eid-ul-Fitr holidays. The Noor Ananda Paribahan bus was headed for Sunamganj’s Diraiye when it spun off the road at Atirbari on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in the morning. Seven year-old Anamika Chakraborty, her grandmother Pratibha Chakraborty, 55, Somuj Miah, 60 and Abdul Mukit, 55, died on spot. ‘The bus tumbled down into a ditch after the driver lost its control. About 20 people are injured,’ said Surma Police Station OC Md Morsalin, according to bdnews24.com.
