4 drown in Louhajang river in Tangail in ferry capsize

TANGAIL, Sept 28 : Four young men, including a student of Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET), drowned as a boat with Durga Puja devotees capsized in river Louhajang in Mirzapur Upazila on Sunday night, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as DUET student Partha Chandra Dey (23), son of Niranjan Chandra Dey, and Biswajit Barman (24), son of Biman Barman, both from Sadar Upazila, Tushar Sarker (13), son of Makhan Sarker of Sripur upazila of Gazipur district, and Partha Sarker, 12, son of Adhir Sarker of Savar upazila in Dhaka district.Police said the overcrowded boat, carrying about 50 people, sank at about 8:30pm while it was going to Ranada Nath Mandir with the Hindu devotees.The four went missing while the rest managed to swim to safety after the tragic ferry accident.Bodies of Partha Dey and Tushar were recovered at 4:30am today while those of Partha Sarker and Biswajit at 3:30 in the afternoon.. — UNB
