4 electrocuted in districts

BANDARBAN, Sept 23 (UNB): Two soldiers of Bangladesh Army died after getting electrocuted at Bandarban Cantonment early Monday.
The deceased were identified as sepoy Rubel, 26, from Dinajpur, and sepoy Jemerul Haque, 24, from Chapainawabganj.
Both were posted at 143 Field Workshop unit of Bangladesh Army.
Major Mashiur of Bandarban Brigade informed that both Rubel and Jemerul came in contact with a high voltage electric wire while plucking green coconuts from a tree in the area around 12:55am, leaving both of them critically injured.
Both were taken to local military medical unit and then to Chittagong Combined Military Hospital (CMH) where doctors pronounced them dead.
Another report from Panchagarh says: Two people died and 10 others, including children, were injured from electrocution at Jamuriburi and Pramanikpara villages following blast of a power transformer in Tentulia upazila on Sunday night.
The deceased were identified as Yakup Ali,50, son of Abbas Ali of Jamuriburi village, and Shahida Begum,35,wife of Abdul Mannan of Pramanikpara village.
Md Moniruzzaman, upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) of Tentulia upazila, said Yakup and Shahida died from electrocution as they came in contact with live wires separately after an electricity transformer covering both the villages exploded with a big bang in Muhurihat area igniting 11,000 KV power line around 8:30pm.
At least 10 people, a few getting shocked and others while running helter-skelter in panic, were injured in the incident. Monoj Kumar Roy, officer-in-charge of Tentulia Police Station, and the UNO visited the spot.
The injured were rushed to Tentulia Upazila Health Complex.
