4 fugitives held in Kushtia

KUSHTIA, Mar 2: Four fugitive criminals were arrested in separate raids by police in the district Monday. According to sources, Mirpur Upazila police arrested the regional leader of Purbo Banglar Biplobi Communist Party Mofazzal Hossain Mofa (40), Helal Uddin (38), and a convicted accused Jhantu (50), The Officer-in-Charge of Mirpur Police station Anwar Hossain said police nabbed outlawed party leader Mufa, son of late Mannuf kha of village Anjangachi in Chatian union, from Poradah Union at night Monday. According to his confessional statement police recovered a long gun two rounds of bullet and a cartridge from Anjangachi village. The arms and ammunition were hided inside the earth. Police said Mufa is accused in different criminal cases including member Kursha Union Parishad and local BNP leader Abu Jafar killing case. Jafar was killed a few days back. Police arrested Helal and Jhuntu from Kursha union on the same night.
