4 held: 1.03kg gold recovered

Four people have been detained at Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) International Airport with over 1.03 kilogramme (kg) of contraband gold. Police identified the detainees as Md Salauddin, Md Hafizur Rahman, Mizanur Rahman and Alamgir Molla. They came separately from Singapore and Kuala Lumpur on Tiger Airways, Malaysia Airways, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, and Qatar Airways flights on Thursday night, security officials at Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) Airport at Kurmitola in Dhaka said. Senior assistant superintendent of Armed Police Battalion (APBn) Alamgir Hossain said the men were stopped just before they were about to board taxicabs. Altogether 1.03 kg gold was found on them. The seized gold has an estimated market value of around Tk 6.1 million, the APBn official said, according to bdnews24.com.
