4 held over gun attack on Shamim

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) personnel in a drive arrested four people from the city’s Dhanmondi area on Tuesday for their alleged involvement in a gun attack on former president of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Enamul Haque Shamim. Acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force launched the drive in Dhanmondi area in the morning and arrested the four in connection with the attack on Enamul Haque Shamim with guns in June, including two masterminds behind the incident, Wing Commander Habibur Rahman, director (Legal and media wing) of the Rab headquarters, said. On June 19, Enamul Haque Shamim, also a member of the Awami League’s working committee, came under the gun attack by a group of miscreants while he on a jeep was going to his workplace Stamford University in Dhanmondi around 10:00am and was injured, according to UNB.
