LALMONIRHAT, July 13 (UNB) Four members of a Hindu family, including two women, were injured when a group of miscreants attacked them over a land dispute at Shafirhat village under Patgram Upazila Sunday.
The injured were identified as Pushpa Rani (62), her two sons Shyamol Chandra Sen (42), Kamal Chandra Sen (35), and Dipali Rani (32), wife of Shyamol of the village.
Police said Pushpa Rani and her fellow-villager Abul Hossain had been at loggerheads over two bighas of land in the area. As a sequel to the enmity, Abul Hossain's supporters reportedly swooped on Pushpa's house at around 9:30 am and beat all the four members of the family, leaving them injured, said officer-in-charge (OC) of Patgram thana Aminul Islam.
The attackers also set a house on fire after vandalising it during the incident.
The injured were rushed to Patgram Upazila Health Complex and then shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
