4 Jubo Dal men sent to jail

A court in Bogra on Thursday sent four leaders and activists of the district unit Jubo Dal, including its general secretary Arafatur Rahman Apple, to jail after rejecting their bail petitions in a case for their involvement in a clash with police over announcement of the January 5 polls schedule. Bogra Judicial Magistrate passed the order when they appeared before the court seeking bail on Thursday. The other accused are Ashraful Islam, Santu Mia and Faruk Hossain. The leaders and activists of BNP’s student front clashed with police at Satmatha in Bogra town soon after announcement of the schedule of the 10th parliamentary elections for January 5 this year. Police filed a case in this connection, according to UNB.
