4 kidnapped construction workers rescued in K\\\'chhari

Four construction workers, who were kidnapped by miscreants from Matiranga Upazila of Khagrachhari 11 days back, were rescued from Sindukchhari under Guimara thana in the district on Thursday night. The rescued workers are Raju Mia, a bulldozer driver, his helper Hasan, and Mohamamd Faruk Mia and Liakat Ali, escalator drivers. Acting on secret information, a team of the Bangladesh Army conducted a drive at Sindukchhari and fired 30 rounds of bullet and being frightened, the kidnappers escape from the village leaving the four victims behind around 9.00pm, said Sindukchhari Army Zone Commander Lieutenant Colonel Rabbi Hasan. Later the army personnel rescued the four workers. One light gun and a country-made revolver were recovered from the spot. The miscreants kidnapped the four construction workers, including a bulldozer driver, from the construction site of Bengmara Bridge in the upazila on July 6, according to UNB.
