4 killed, 30 injured in road accident

NARSINGDI, Mar 20 (UNB): Four people were killed and 30 others injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at Poulanpur in Sadar Upazila Sunday. Of the deceased, one was identified as Akhi Begum (24) while identity of other deceased could not be known immediately. Police said the accident occurred at about 3pm when a bus of Meghalaya Paribahan coming behind a truck collided with two buses of Shaymoli Paribahan and Trisha Paribahan as the bus of Meghalaya Paribahan tried to overtake the truck. Buses of Shaymoli and Trisha Paribahan turned turtle in the accident, which left three people killed on the spot and injured others. The injured were admitted to Sadar Hospital where an unidentified man, aged about (35) died after admission there. Police recovered the bodies and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy. Drivers of three buses fled away after the accident.A case was filed with thana.
