4 killed as house set on fire in Gopalganj

GOPALGANJ May 18: Four persons were killed including a minor girl and a woman in a fire at Dumdia village under Gopalganj Sadar Upazila of the district last night.
The deceased were identified as Tanima (5), daughter of Mohidul Fakir, Tamim (8), son of Mohidul Fakir of village Fukra under Gopalganj Sadar Upazila, Aminur Sarder (13), son of Shawkat of village Chandradighalia under Gopalganj Sadar Upazila and Furia Begum (65) wife of Deloar Kazi of village Dumdia under Gopalganj Sadar Upazila of the district.
According to local people and Thana police, ''Son in-law of Furia Begum, Azad Mollah, of village Charmanikdah under Gopalganj Sadar Upazila set fire on his father in-law's residence yesterday midnight while the house members were asleep keeping locked the door from outside.
A case was filed with Gopalganj Police Station in this connection and police arrested eight persons for interrogation. Md. Mizanur Rahman, SP, Gopalganj visited the spot.
