4 killed by lightning strikes in Satkhira

Four people, including two women, were killed and 7 others injured in separate incidents of lightning strikes at Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira district on Wednesday morning. The deceased were identified as Nurunnahar, 35, wife of Abdur Rahman, a resident of Sora village, Sajeda Begum Saju, 35, wife of Amzad Ali, a resident of Patrakhola village, Abdul Hamid, 45, son of Mofajjal Hossain, a resident of Taranipur village, and Riyad Gzi,70, a resident of Paranpur village. Witnesses said four died on the spot and seven others injured as thunderbolts hit them in the area 8:30am. The injured were admitted to Shyamnagar upazila health complex. Among them, condition of two was stated to be critical. Officer-in-charge of Shyamnagar Police Station Enamul Haque confirmed the incident, according to UNB.
