4 killed in road mishaps in dists

JHENAIDAH, Apr 20 (BSS): Two persons, including a former vice president (VP) of Government KC College Students Union, were killed and two others injured in a road accident at Jhenaidah Truck Terminal this morning. The victims were identified as the VP Mosabber Hossain Laltu (35) and Sirajul Islam (61). Police sources said four persons suffered critical injuries as a truck turned turtle and collapsed on them while they were talking on the roadside at Jhenaidah Truck Terminal after offering Fazr prayers. The injured were rushed to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital where Mosabber Hossain Laltu and Sirajul Islam died on arrival. The injured homeopathic doctor Mizanur Rahman and Tajul Islam were admitted to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital for treatment. A case was recorded with the concerned thana in this connection. Savar UNB adds: In another accident two people were killed and at least 15 got injured when a bus fell into a ditch near Bathuli bus stand at Dhamrai on Dhaka- Aricha highway in Savar Wednesday morning. One of the deceased was identified as Mofiz Mia (44), helper of the bus, but the identity of the other deceased was not available immediately. Locals said a Meherpur-bound bus of Keya Paribahan fell into the ditch when it tried to give space to a microbus coming from opposite side at around 7 am. The bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy. The injured were sent to local health complex and clinics. Some of the injured were admitted in the Dhaka Medical Hospital.
