4 killed in Tangail road crash

At least four people were killed and an unspecified number injured when a truck rammed into a pick-up van on Dhaka-Tangail Highway at Kalihati upazila at Tangail district on Saturday. The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately. Mohammad Akheruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Bangabandhu (Jamuna) Bridge East Police Station, said the accident took place at Jokarchar around 8:00 am when a truck from Dhaka hit a pick-up van coming from the opposite direction, leaving four riders of the pick-up van killed on the spot. Being informed, police rushed to the spot and were rescuing the injured, according to a news agency.
