4 pistols recovered in city: 3 held

Detectives rounded up three suspected muggers at Kalyanpur in the city on Wednesday morning. Sources at the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police said four foreign-made pistols and bullets were also recovered from them. However, they did not disclose the identities of the arrestees. Being tipped off, a team of DB police intercepted a private car (Dhaka Ga 11-3534) around 7:00am near Khaleque Petrol Pump on Mirpur Road at Kalyanpur. The detectives searched the car and recovered four pistols and some bullets from the vehicle. They also arrested the three suspected snatchers, according to a news agency.
