4 projects worth Tk 6.59b gets cabinet nod

The Cabinet Committee on Purchase at a meeting on Wednesday approved four projects worth Tk 6.59 billion that include building a water treatment plant in Khulna.
"The water plant will be built in Khulna. China Harbour and Engineering Company Ltd will build it at a cost of Tk 5.34 billion," Joint Secretary of the Cabinet Division Mostafizur Rahman told the media after the meeting.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith presided over the meeting. Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Minister Engineer Khandker Mosharraf Hossain, among others, were present.
The committee approved the project for appointing consultant for Preparation of Detailed Area Plan (2016-2035) for Dhaka Metropolitan Development Plan under two separate lots at a cost of Tk 129 million.
The other projects that also got the nod include appointing consultancy firm for the project of Dhaka Water Supply and Sanitation Project (DWSSP) consultancy services for engineering design and preparation of tender document for construction of sewage collection and treatment infrastructure at Mirpur and Uttara in the capital at a cost of Tk 133 million and construction of 12-storey building having 20-storey foundation with basement floors including internal sanitary, water supply arrangement and internal electrification works at a cost of Tk 994 million.
