4 students missing at Saint Martin’s Island

Four students of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) are missing after they went swimming off the coast of Saint Martin’s Island in Teknaf, police and Coast Guards say. The incident took place around 2pm on Monday, said Lt Shahid Al Ahsan, Commander of Coast Guard’s Saint Martin’s Island. Locals rescued five persons and saved them from drowning, Ahsan said. They were sent to a hospital in Teknaf by a speedboat after first aid, he said. A group of 34 students of AUST came to the island from Dhaka, said Teknaf Police Station OC Ranjit Kumar Barua. The identity of the four missing students could not be known immediately, the OC said, according to bdnews24.com.
