4 workers burnt in city shoe factory fire

At least four workers suffered serious burn injuries when a devastating fire broke out at a shoe factory in old part of Dhaka city on Sunday night. The injured were identified as M Sharif, Aminur Rahman, 24, Aminul Islam, 20, and Abdur Rahim. They are undergoing treatment at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). Fire service officials said the fire originated from a matchstick around 9:45 pm, leaving the four who were working at the shoe manufacturing unit injured. On information, a fire fighting unit rushed to the spot. However, locals managed to tame the flame at the Kayettuli factory before the firefighters arrived. The condition of the injured was stated to be critical at the DMCH, according to hospital sources, reports UNB.
