40 sued for Comilla MP nephew murder

A case has been filed against some 40 Bangladesh Chhatra League men in connection with the killing of a businessman during Thursday’s BCL infighting in the city. Habibus Sayerin Shayer, elder brother of victim Ahsan Habib Samu, filed the case against 15 named BCL men and 25 unidentified ones with Kotwali Police Station early Friday, said officer-in-charge of the police station Khorshed Alam. The accused include former organising secretary of Govt Victoria College BCL Saleh Ahmed Russell, BCL activists Shahin, Ripon, Shakil alias Chhota Shakil, Zakir, Khokan, Shakil, Shah Poran, Saiful, Jony alias Chika, Alauddin, Fahmid, Foysal, Shipu and Ashique. Samu, 40, Comilla branch director of security-proving agency ‘Guard Bangladesh’ and son of late Omar Faruk, cousin of MP from Sadar constituency AKM Bahauddin Bahar, was shot to death during a BCL infighting in the city, according to UNB.
