42 bulkheads fined Tk 4.834m

Bangladesh Coast Guard realised Tk 4.834 million in fine from 42 bulkheads in Buriganga River on charge of evading VAT in the last two days ending on Tuesday. Sources at the Coast Guard headquarters said an operation team from Coast Guard Station in Pagla in Narayanganj district conducted a mobile court with the help of Md Bodruzzaman Munshi, Assistant Commissioner (Customs Exercise and VAT Commissionerate) of Dhaka South from Monday in different areas of Buriganga River. They detained 42 bulkheads on charge of carrying goods evading VAT/Tax and realised Tk 48.34 lakh in fine, according to UNB.
