43 sacks of govt rice seized

FARIDPUR, Oct 9 (UNB): Some 43 sacks of government rice were seized while being removed to be sold at the black market at Dhulpukuria in Boalmari Upazila Wednesday.
Local administration sources said the police, led by UNO Mohammad Abdul Awal, seized the sacks of rice when those were being removed from Shekhar Union Parishad Board office by 11 rickshaw vans.
According to the van drivers, some local people bought slips from the VGF card holders and collected the rice from the board office to sell in the black market.
None was arrested in this connection.
