43rd meeting of IBCF Task Committee held

The 43rd meeting of the Task Committee of Islamic Banks Consultative Forum (IBCF) was held in the Board Room of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC recently. The meeting was presided over by Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, Managing Director of Shahjalal Islami Bank and Chairman of the Task Committee of IBCF while Nurul Islam Khalifa, Secretary of IBCF was present as the special guest. Members of the Task Committee, Md. Omar Faruk Khan, Managing Director of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC, Mohd. RafatUllah Khan, Managing Director (Acting) of Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC, Muhommad Badiuzzaman Dider, Administrator of First Security Islami Bank PLC, Mohammad Abul Hashem, Administrator of Union Bank PLC, and Md. Kawsar Pathan, Associate Administrator of Global Islami Bank PLC, were present. Different issues were discussed such as the discrimination in realisation of excise duty between Islamic and conventional banks by National Board of Revenue, publicity of Islamic banking and finance in the electronic media through a unified initiative and publication of a half yearly newsletter.
