CHITTAGONG, July 5 (BSS): The Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) and the Chittagong district administration in cooperation with Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) in a joint drive removed 44 billboards from the city's GEC crossing area on Sunday.
The drive began from the city's GEC intersection around 10:00 am in the presence of high officials from CCC and district administration and ended at 4:00 pm.
The drive was led by CCC magistrate Nazir Sherine and executive magistrate of district administration Tamim Al Yamin. The mobile court team also fined two advertising firms Neon Sign and Bindu Art Tk 13 thousand for setting up illegal signboards.
Sources said CCC had earlier been asking the owners of the illegal billboards through paper advertisement to remove the billboards and declared the drive would continue until all illegal billboards are removed.
