46 applicants for each DU seat

The upcoming Dhaka University (DU) admission test will have 301,138 candidates vying for 6,582 seats, creating a seat-contender ratio of 1:46.
DU Vice Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique gave the details at the central admission office Sunday after announcing the closure of the application process.
"Among the five units, the combined unit 'D' will see stiff competition. There are 79 contenders for each seat in this unit," he said.
"In addition, 81,948 have applied for 1,640 seats in unit 'A' of the science faculty; 42,417 for 2,221 seats in 'B' unit of arts faculty; 49,476 for 1,170 seats in unit 'C' of business studies; 14,755 applicants applied for 135 seats in unit 'F' of fine arts faculty," said the DU VC.
As per the DU schedule, admissions test for 'C' unit will be held on Sep 5. For unit 'A', 'B','D' and 'F' the admission tests are scheduled on September 12, 19, 26 and 13 respectively.
