47 exporters to get N’al Export Trophy for FY \\\'11

The government has selected a total of 47 exporters to award them National Export Trophy for the fiscal year 2010-11 in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the country's export trade, officials concerned said.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to hand over the trophies and certificates to the recipients at 10.30 am on November 20 at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka.
"If every thing goes accordingly, we have completed all necessary preparation to hand over the trophy to the export heroes on 20th of this month," vice-chairman of Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), Suvashis Bosh told the FE.
The EPB vice chairman also said this kind of recognition would encourage local exporters to do business in a transparent way on competitive basis.
Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) and Ministry of Commerce jointly provide the award to exporters every year in three categories-gold, silver and bronze. Of the 47 trophies, gold medals would be given to 21 business establishments, silver to 15 and bronze to 11.
Jabber and Jobayer Fabrics Ltd has been selected to receive the trophy as the highest exporter. Jabber and Jobayer Fabrics Ltd had also achieved the position of highest exporter last year.
According to the National Trophy Policy, the award is given in 25 categories of products (gold, silver and bronze for each product).
The products include Readymade Garment (RMG), all kinds of cotton, textiles, fabrics, home and specialised textiles, frozen foods, raw jute, leather and leather goods, footwear, agricultural goods, agro processing goods, handicrafts, plastic goods, ceramic products, light engineering, electric and electric goods, medicines, computer software and IT.
