484,951 cleared for overseas jobs

A record number of 484,951 people have been cleared for overseas employment this year and the caretaker government is exploring newer job markets, said Foreign Adviser Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury. "The government is keenly aware of the problems of Bangladeshi workers working abroad," he told an inter-ministerial meeting at the MoFA on problems facing the Bangladeshi workers in Malaysia. Iftekhar, also in charge of the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, chaired the meeting. —UNB
