49-kg gold seized from Ctg airport

CHITTAGONG, Feb 7: Customs officials recovered 420 gold bars weighing nearly 49 kilograms from a flight of the "Fly Dubai" at the Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong Thursday night. Assistant commissioner of airport customs Moshiur Rahman said the customs officials recovered the gold bars from the flight (FZ-589) that landed at the airport at around 8.30 pm. "The gold bars were found in an abandoned state inside a book at the bathroom of the flight", Moshiur Rahman said adding that none was arrested in this connection. Market price of the gold bars weighing 48.5 kilograms is about Tk 202 million (20 crore 20 lakh), he added.     — BSS
