4th class RMCH employees cease work

The fourth class employees of Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) on Sunday staged a work abstention protesting the alleged disappearance of one of their leaders. The fourth class employees abstained from work in the morning and took to the street. They blocked Rangpur–Dinajpur highway at the medical college intersection for one hour and held a rally protesting the disappearance of Abraham Linkon, general secretary of the fourth class employees union. They, however, withdraw their blockade as additional superintendent of police Rangpur Humayan Kabir assured them of rescuing Linkon as early as possible. Locals and employees said a group of 6-7 plainclothes people picked Abraham Linkon up into a white microbus when he was taking tea along with his colleagues on the campus on Saturday afternoon. As the employees asked the abductors of their identities they introduced them as members of the law enforcement agencies. Farzana Sharmin, wife of Abraham Linkon, filed a kidnapping case with the Kotwali police station, according to a news agency.
